The first knee ache
Ambush!
It is day 3, and being hyper optimistic after my first run two days ago, I was ready to greet a new day when... I stumbled getting out of the bed as a dull pain jostled my left knee.
Hello, I'm Annie, and the beginning of my story couldn't be more fitting. I truly believe that there is no perfection, but there is life, and wonderful days filled with running.
I have set a goal to run the Paris Semi marathon on March 6th next year. The race being 24 weeks from now, it gives me plenty of time to prepare. You need to know a few things about me. First, I am a lone runner. Second, I occasionally venture into the world of distance running and treat it like a meditative experience, but have as of yet to complete a race. Any race.
So naturally, I chose the second most difficult. No biggie, right? Now, I am not naive. My first couple of runs will consist of slow 2mile halfhour meetings with the pavement on my block, and hopefully I shall come out of it with my knee unhurt. But I am doing this. Why?
Stay tuned, and find out.
